DaysofPal- Israeli settlers launched a violent attack on Palestinians in the village of Khallet al-Dabaa, part of the Masafer Yatta region south of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, leaving at least 20 people injured, including a three-month-old infant.
According to Palestinian activist Osama al-Makhmara, dozens of settlers stormed the community in the early hours of Friday and assaulted residents with sticks, metal rods, and knives.
Among those hurt were children, elderly individuals, and the infant.
The injuries included bruises, bone fractures, and stab wounds. Nine of the victims were taken to nearby hospitals for urgent medical treatment.
Witnesses reported that the Israeli settlers also vandalized property, damaging homes, livestock pens, and vehicles during the assault.
Residents said the attack created widespread panic, particularly among children, who were forced to flee their homes.
Khallet al-Dabaa and other villages in Masafer Yatta have been suffering from escalating settler violence and repeated attempts to forcibly displace residents.
The area is part of a cluster of rural hamlets designated by Israel as a “firing zone” for military training, despite being home to hundreds of Palestinian families.
In addition to settler attacks, Israeli occupation forces have carried out repeated demolitions in the village.
On May 5, Israeli forces demolished 25 homes, agricultural structures, and water wells, citing a lack of building permits, permits which Palestinians say are almost impossible to obtain under the Israeli occupation.
Human rights groups warn that the sustained violence and demolitions in Masafer Yatta by Israeli forces and settlers amount to a systematic effort to drive Palestinians from their land, a practice they say could constitute forcible transfer under international law.
