Armed Israeli settlers opened gunfire Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Palestinian homes during confrontations in the village of Nabi Saleh, to the west of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.
This attack came as Israeli occupation forces clamped down protests against recent Israeli massacres in Nablus, Jenin and the punitive measures taken against Palestinian prisoners. In turn, Israeli settlers shut down the main entrance to the village, blocking movement of vehicles in and out of the village.
The incident also coincides with a brutal Israeli aggression by the occupation forces and Israeli settlers on Palestinian people across the occupied territories, which resulted since the beginning of the year in the killing of at least 61 Palestinians and the injury of many more.
The new Israeli Government follow a systematic daily violations against Palestinian citizens, deliberate detentions, house demolitions and mandatory deportation policy in a multiplied approach in a way to suffocate and complicate Palestinian lives.
