Dozens of Israeli settlers, protected by occupation forces, attacked on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, Palestinian farmers in the village of Um Safa, northwest of Ramallah.
According to Marwan Sabah, the head of Um Safa village council, the settlers assaulted the farmers with stones in the southern lands of the village, fortunately causing no injuries.
In response to the attack, Palestinians rushed to confront the settlers and defend their lands.
Um Safa’s attack highlights Palestinian communities’ ongoing challenges in protecting their livelihoods and property from barbaric Israeli violations.
The settlers’ attacks are facilitated and protected by the Israeli occupation forces. They fail to intervene effectively to prevent or stop settler violence against Palestinians. This lack of accountability and law enforcement has contributed to a culture of impunity, where settlers rarely face consequences for their actions.
