Hundreds of colonial settlers attacked on Saturday, 19 August 2023 Palestinian citizens’ vehicles in the occupied West Bank town of Hawara, south of Nablus.
Local Palestinian sources reported that dozens of Israeli settlers deployed near the intersection of the road between the town of Hawara and the city of Qalqilya and attacked vehicles owned by Palestinians with stones. No injuries or damage were reported.
Israeli settlers from the Israeli of Yitzhar attacked the Palestinian village of Burin in Nablus and attacked homes and destroyed a number of olive trees owned by Palestinian residents.
Furthermore, Israeli occupation forces invaded the Palestinian towns of Orif and Beita, south of Nablus. They also raided a mosque and a number of shops in Beita and confiscated the surveillance cameras.
This attack was not the first, dozens of Israeli armed settlers on February 26 attacked Huwara and torched some 30 Palestinian-owned homes and more than 100 cars during the late-night rampage, in what appeared to be the worst outburst of settler violence in decades.
Tensions have escalated between Palestinians and Israeli colonial settlers amid intensified Israeli deadly military raids in occupied Palestinian territories.
Palestinian officials said this was the deadliest start to a year there since 2000. Nearly 227 Palestinians have been killed across the occupied Palestinian lands since the start of 2023.
