An extremist Jewish settler opened fire on Sunday at Palestinian homes in Sinjil town, north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
According to local sources, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed Sinjil town following the settler attack.
The IOF also closed two entrances to the town with mounds of dirt and rocks. There is already a permanent IOF checkpoint at the town’s main entrance.
Meanwhile, the IOF set up on the same day a checkpoint in at-Taiba village in western Jenin and embarked on obstructing the movement of citizens and vehicles.
Local sources confirmed that an armed Israeli settler opened gunfire on the same day at a girl’s school in the village of Tuqu in the occupied West Bank province of Bethlehem.
Violence and vandalism by Israeli settlers are commonplace in the occupied West Bank and are never prosecuted by the occupation authorities.
Attacks by settlers against Palestinians particularly intensified during the last three months, with the Israeli occupation army turning a blind eye to the violence spree and providing the settlers with protection.
