Israeli repression units of the occupation prisons administration, including soldiers with strong bodies and a previous military experience stormed section (6, 28) of Al-Naqab Israeli prison Wednesday, March 1, 2023 following their protest against punitive measures taken against them.
It’s noteworthy that these units’ members have received special trainings to suppress and abuse Palestinian prisoners, using various weapons, including knives, batons, tear gas canisters, electrical devices that cause burns, weapons incendiary bullets, internationally banned “dumdum” bullets, and other bullets that cause severe pain.
These repression forces stormed at least two sections, which are sections (6, 28), and cut off the electricity in the prison, and in turn, Palestinian prisoners responded by removing the electrics from their cells, and knocking on the doors of the sections where the prisoners are locked.
The Prisoner’s Club confirm that things are going towards an escalation in various Israeli prisons, especially in the “Naqab” prison, which is considered one of the largest central prisons in which Palestinian prisoners are held as their number exceeded 1,300 prisoners.
Yesterday, Al-Naqab prison administration informed the prisoners that it’s to impose new punitive measures, including closing the cantina on Friday and Saturday, and imposing restrictions on the entry of clothes for Palestinian prisoners.
Note that 4,500 Palestinians are currently inside Israeli occupation prisons, including 400 who have severe and chronic illnesses, 31 women, and 500 administrative detainees.
In the absence of strong pressure to stop the systemic inhumane abuses, the racist and fascist policies of the Prison Service Administration have a negative impact on Palestinian detainees, as these provocative acts in the West-Bank come amid the escalating atmosphere, especially after the formation of the new Israeli Government.
