M.S | DOP -

The Israeli occupation released today, Thursday, February 2, 2023, the Palestinian female detainee, Shorouq Al-Badan, after 14 months of administrative detention.

On August 12, 2021, the occupation forces detained Shorouq Muhammad Musa al-Badan, 28, after storming and searching her house in the town of Tuqu’, east of Hebron. At that time, only 6 months had passed since her release from the occupation prisons.

Shorouq Al-Badan is a mother of two children.

On May 2, 2021, the occupation released Al-Badan from her previous detention, after an 8-month administrative detention in Israeli prisons.

Al-Badan was previously detained in July 2019, and an administrative detention order was issued against her, which was renewed 3 times, so that she spent 12 months in prison.

The Israeli occupation released her at the end of June 2020. Less than two months after her release, the Israeli forces re-detained her again.

Al-Badan suffered during her detention period from health issues that were exacerbated by the difficult conditions of detention, especially after what she was exposed to during her first detention years ago. It caused her severe stomach, kidney and nerve problems.

The Palestinian female detainees in the occupation prisons suffer from difficult detention conditions. In addition, the Israeli prisons administration practices medical negligence against them, which recently caused the death of the 68-year-old female Palestinian detainee, Saadia Matar, from Hebron.

The Israeli occupation continues to detain 28 Palestinian females in “Damon” prison, including three minors and 7 mothers.

The detainee Maysoon Mousa is the oldest female detainee in the occupation prisons, who has been detained since 2015 and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

The two female detainees, Shorouq Doyyat and Shatila Abu Ayad, are facing a higher prison sentence of 16 years.

Among the female detainees is an administrative detainee, Raghad Al-Fani.

There are also 6 injured female detainees, the most difficult of whom is the prisoner Israa Jaabis, who suffers from severe deformities in her body, as a result of severe burns that affected 60% of her body. It was due to the occupation soldiers shooting at her car in 2015, which caused a gas cylinder to explode in her car. The occupation has not provided for her medical treatment yet.
