The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) notified Thursday, March 9, 2023 a Palestinian citizen in Khirbet Humsa al-Tahta in the northern Jordan Valley to stop construction on his own facilities.
Aref Daraghmeh, a human rights activist, stated that the occupation forces invaded the village and delivered notices to stop construction in five facilities: tents, residential facilities, and animal shelters, owned by the Palestinian citizen Ali Abu Farah.
Israeli occupation is trying in various ways to forcibly displace Palestinians from their own lands and demolish their homes in favor of settlement expansion, using pretexts most notably building without a permit.
During the first two months of 2023, Israeli occupation demolished 185 Palestinian-owned structures in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, according to the United Nations Organization for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OCHA).
OCHA explained that the Israeli occupation carry out the stop-construction and demolition orders under the pretext of lacking a building permit. The organization noted that “it is almost impossible for Palestinians to obtain such or that permit.”
