DaysofPal- The Israeli occupation is intensifying its military buildup ahead of a planned offensive to capture Gaza City, the largest urban center in the Palestinian territory.
Israeli reservists have begun responding to call-up orders, despite mounting pressure to end the Israeli genocide in Gaza.
Israeli occupation forces have been preparing for the offensive by increasing bombardments in the area in recent days.
Gaza’s civil defense agency spokesperson, Mahmud Bassal, reported that Israeli warplanes hit a residential building in southwestern Gaza City, killing 10 people.
Additionally, Israeli helicopters struck an apartment in the western part of the city, killing three and wounding several others.
The United Nations-backed Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) declared famine in Gaza last month, confirming that 500,000 people in the Gaza governorate are affected.
Since March 2, Israeli occupation has closed Gaza’s border crossings, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis and pushing the territory’s 2.4 million population into famine.
The international community has expressed growing concern over the escalating violence and humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Efforts to mediate a ceasefire have so far been unsuccessful, and the Israeli war continues to have devastating consequences for civilians.
