DaysofPal – At least 54 Palestinians were killed on Tuesday in a new wave of Israeli bombardment on the Gaza Strip, with the heaviest toll recorded in Gaza City neighborhoods, where 27 people lost their lives.
Hospital sources reported that among the dead were 14 Palestinians killed while seeking aid, including nine near the Wadi Gaza Bridge south of the Netzarim axis in central Gaza.
In the north, Israeli occupation forces carried out strikes on Jabalia and shelled a house in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City, killing nine people, among them children, according to Al-Shifa Medical Complex. The Ambulance Service confirmed another four fatalities in Sheikh Radwan after two houses were hit.
In the south, Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis reported that Israeli fire killed five Palestinians waiting for aid. Emergency services also confirmed casualties from an Israeli strike on a tent sheltering displaced families in the city.
The ongoing assault has intensified efforts by the Israeli army to empty Gaza City of its remaining residents, forcing civilians toward central and southern areas already overwhelmed by overcrowding, disease, and continued bombardment. Schools, shelters, and makeshift camps in the western part of Gaza City, where displaced families had sought refuge, have also been repeatedly targeted.
Despite relentless attacks, hundreds of thousands of civilians remain in Gaza City, unwilling to leave. Many say there are no safe zones in central or southern Gaza and choose to stay close to their homes and communities, even as bombardments destroy entire neighborhoods around them.
The Israeli occupation army continues to demolish residential buildings across several neighborhoods in Gaza City. Video footage showed the aftermath of strikes in the northwest city neighborhood of Sheikh Radwan, where entire blocks have been abruptly destroyed.
Residents report that Israel is employing a policy of flattening whole residential areas as part of the first stages of its plan to invade and occupy Gaza City. Hundreds of buildings have already been destroyed in Shuja’iyya, Zeitoun, and Sabra, adding to the scale of devastation.
Tuesday’s massacres are part of Israel’s ongoing war on the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7, 2023. The offensive has so far left more than 203,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, the majority women and children, with over 9,000 still missing beneath the rubble. Hundreds of thousands more remain displaced, while famine spreads, claiming lives daily.
