Israeli occupation forces killed a young Palestinian man today during a demonstration in Ramallah against the Israeli military operation in Jenin, which left at least five other Palestinians dead.
The Ministry of Health identified the slain protester as Mohammad Imad Hasanin, 21, from the al-Amari refugee camp in Ramallah. He was shot in the head and succumbed to his wounds at a hospital.
Witnesses said that Hasanin was among hundreds of Palestinians who gathered at the northern entrance to Ramallah to express their solidarity with the residents of Jenin, who have been under a brutal Israeli siege and bombardment since yesterday.
The Israeli occupation forces fired live ammunition, tear gas and rubber-coated metal bullets at the protesters, injuring dozens of them, some seriously.
The Ministry of Health said that Hasanin was the 185th Palestinian to be killed by Israeli occupation gunfire since the beginning of the year in the occupied Palestinian territories.
It condemned the Israeli escalation and aggression against the Palestinian people and called on the international community to intervene to protect them and hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its crimes.
