Israeli Occupation Demolishes Remaining Parts of Palestinian Home

M.Y | DOP -

Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday went back to the Isawiyya area in Jerusalem to take down the remaining parts of a building that they forced its Palestinian owner to demolish earlier this month, according to local reports.

Nizar Muheisen reportedly took it upon himself to demolish the majority of his house at the beginning of the month, following an Israeli demand to do so as he was constructing it without the rarely granted building permission and being fined nearly $30,000.

Residents of Jerusalem living under occupation are forced to demolish their own homes to avoid paying extremely high fees.

The sources reported that, despite the destruction of most of the building, a single outer wall still stood, leading the local government to send personnel to demolish the wall and make the owner pay for the expensive costs.
