In the early hours of Monday morning, September 11, 2023, Israeli naval forces arrested two Palestinian fishermen off Rafah shore in southern Gaza, following gunfire aimed at their boat.
Zakaria Bakr, a representative of the Fishermen’s Union Committees, reported that Israeli foeces opened fire with machine guns, surrounded a fishing boat west of the Rafah port, and apprehended the fishermen, identified as Nafiz Ramadan Salah (25 years old) and Munib Mahmoud Ashkantna (26 years old).
Communication with the boat was lost, and the detained fishermen were transported to the port of Ashdod.
Israeli naval forces committed 200 violations against Palestinian fishermen and their equipment while they worked off the coast of Gaza since the beginning of the current year until August 27th.
