In a press statement, Hamas movement has hardly condemned the horrific massacre committed by the Israeli army in Tel Sultan, west of Rafah, a short while ago, affirming that this is a blatant challenge, complete disregard, and defiance of the ICJ’s decision, which demanded its forces to halt its aggression on Rafah.
“We hold the US administration and President Biden, in particular, fully responsible for this massacre, which the Israeli zionists would not have committed without American support and its green light to invade Rafah, despite the city is overcrowded with displaced citizens,” the statement reads.
Hamas demanded an immediate and urgent implementation of the ICJ’s decisions and an immense pressure to stop this massacre and the bloodshed of innocent civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.
It revealed that the international community, the UN, and all relevant bodies are urgently required to act to stop the continuation of this genocidal war against Gaza people for more than seven months, and to provide protection for them.
Late on Sunday, horrifying images and footages came out from a tents’ camp in Rafah’s Tel Sultan showing the bodies of tens of Palestinians, over 60, are severely burned and children’s charred bodies are without heads after Israeli army dropped over 8 missiles on an area that incubates 100,000 displaced Palestinians.
The attack came just hours after the Israeli Knesset approved the preliminary reading designating UNRWA as a “terrorist organization”.
International Committee of the Red Crescent in Rafah said that their field hospital is receiving an influx of casualties seeking care for injuries and burns.
“We have received reports that other hospitals are also admitting a large number of patients. Our teams are working tirelessly to save lives. It is crucial to protect civilians and adhere to the fundamental rules of International Humanitarian Law: distinction, proportionality, and precaution,” the committee added.
