Israeli occupation forces storm Thursday, June 15, 2023, Palestinian prisoners’ rooms in Nafha prison, suppressing many of them, as a result of which tension prevailed in the prison.
Palestinian Prisoner Club Society reported that Israeli repressive forces stormed section 3 in Nafha prison, where 110 Palestinian are detained, and provocatively searched them.
The storming coincides with Palestinian administrative detainees preparing for open hunger strike scheduled to start next Sunday, June 18, against the illegal Israeli policy of administrative detention against them.
The Palestinian Committee of Administrative Detainees, affiliated with the Supreme National Emergency Committee in Israeli prisons, declared general mobilization in all prisons in which administrative detainees are held, preparing for an open hunger strike.
Israeli prison administration reportedly threatens to impose more sanctions on Palestinian detainees who participate in the hunger strike, attempting to torpedo the Palestinian detainees’ effort to claim their legal right to end this inhumane illegal policy.
Israel’s illegal policy of administrative detention is a pre-emptive measure that allows the detention of Palestinians without charge or trial for lengthy periods of time based on disclosed allegations that even a detainee’s lawyer is barred from viewing.
The Israeli occupation currently retains over 1200 administrative detainees inside its prisons, most of whom are in prisons (Ofer, the Negev, and Megiddo), including 14 children and 3 female prisoners.
