Israeli occupation forces IOF quelled several Palestinian marches held on Friday, January 20, in the occupied West Bank, injuring dozens of protesters.
According to Palestinian local sources, the Israeli forces quelled protesters who took part in anti-settlement marches in the occupied West Bank cities of Qalqilia and Nablus.
The media sources pointed out that Israeli occupation forces shot and injured three Palestinians in the Qaryiut village in occupied Nablus.
In addition, the IOF suppressed the weekly march of Beit Dajan, east of occupied Nablus. 25 protesters suffered tear gas inhalation as a result.
In a related development, the IOF fired tear gas canisters at Palestinians in Kufr Qaddoum, east of Qalqilia. Five protesters inflicted Israeli-bullet injuries, and dozens suffered breathing problems.
Earlier on Friday, Israeli settlers constructed a settlement outpost on the Palestinian-owned lands in Gorish village, southeast of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus.
On Fridays, Palestinians in several parts of the occupied West Bank join in anti-settlement marches to protest against the Israeli settlements’ expansion, which swallowed mass areas of their lands.
The right-wing Israeli new government aims at expanding settlement in the occupied West Bank, which Palestinians reject and protest against. The new government has announced multiple settlement projects since the start of 2023.
