The elderly Palestinian Fahmi Hamad died, on Monday evening, after he was suffocated by tear gas canisters fired by the Israeli occupation forces during their storming to Qalandia camp in occupied Jerusalem, this morning.
Israeli occupation forces stormed Qalandia camp this morning and blocked the main road at Qalandia’s main route between Jerusalem and Ramallah, which led to violent clashes between the Israeli soldiers and Palestinian youths, according to Palestinian sources.
During the clashes, the Israeli forces fired tear gas grenades, sound bombs and rubber bullets indiscriminately. Many Palestinians suffocated, including the elderly Fahmi Hamad, 57 year-old, who later died as a result, the sources added.
Fahmy was immediately transferred to the hospital then died in the evening.
It is worth noting that the Israeli occupation forces killed Fahmy’s brother in Qalandia on April 15, 2002.
The Israeli occupation forces also severely beat the Palestinian youth Ahmed Mutair from the camp before arresting him.
