Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, handed out stop-work orders for eight Palestinian houses in the town of Dayr Balut, west of Salfit.
Local sources reported that the Israeli forces delivered stop-work orders for eight residential houses in the Dhahr Rajal area, located in the northern part of the town.
The sources added that the eight houses are owned by Mohammed Azam Abdul Jawad, Mohammed Riyad Mustafa, Jawad Hadrous, Nazem Abu Khair, Bashar Mustafa, and Ahmed Abdul Khaliq Mustafa.
The ongoing Israeli policies of house demolitions undermine the rights and stability of Palestinian communities.
The Israeli authorities frequently use such measures to restrict Palestinian expansion in the occupied territories, citing arbitrary and often unfounded reasons. Palestinians argue that these actions aim to displace them from their lands and alter the demographic composition of the area.
This latest episode is yet another manifestation of the Israeli occupation’s ongoing efforts to control and suppress Palestinian communities in the West Bank.
