An Israeli settler was killed by a gunshot on Tuesday near a Jewish settlement in the northern area of the West Bank under Israeli occupation, according to Israeli media sources.
Israeli authorities reported that a Jewish 32-year-old Jewish settler of the Hermesh settlement near Jenin was shot multiple times while driving into the settlement.
Israeli occupation forces are searching for two alleged perpetrators whose identities have not been disclosed and have set up roadblocks in the nearby area.
Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant stated he would carry out an assessment of the circumstances in conjunction with high-ranking military officials in response to the shooting.
This event has transpired as the Israeli right-wing government keeps favoring settlement decisions in the West Bank at a cost to Palestinians civilians.
About 700,000 Israeli settlers reside in settlements in the West Bank and in East Jerusalem, which the international community has deemed as illegal.
