Israeli forces targeted on Sunday, September 17, 2023, Palestinian journalists during protests condemning the assault on Al-Aqsa Mosque in the eastern Jabalia region of northern Gaza.

Local sources reported injuries to Fadi Al-Danaf, a cameraman for Al-Jazeera, and Bilal Al-Sabbagh, a photographer for the French news agency, both struck by gas canisters in the foot.

Additionally, a press vehicle was directly targeted in the same area.

These clashes erupted between Palestinian youth and Israeli occupation forces along the eastern borders of Jabalia, Gaza, Khan Younis, and Rafah, in support of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the people of Jerusalem.

In a related context, Israeli forces stationed along the eastern borders of Gaza fired their weapons towards agricultural lands east of Rafah in southern Gaza.

Earlier in the day, 386 settlers, under the protection of Israeli forces imposing strict restrictions on Muslim worshippers, entered the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque to celebrate the Jewish New Year.

On Friday, 12 Palestinians, including journalists, were injured during popular protests along the eastern borders of Gaza.
