Israeli occupation forces have detained 3000 Palestinian citizens so far in 2023, the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) reported Monday, May 29, 2023.
PPS said that Jericho recorded more than 170 cases of detention, concentrated in the Aqabat Jaber refugee camp, where Israeli forces detained more than 100 Palestinians.
It indicated that the detentions were accompanied by field executions and systematic abuse of Palestinian detainees and their families.
The society added that Israeli forces used various weapons, practised collective punishment, and damaged Palestinian houses’ contents while detaining the Palestinians.
Israeli forces detained 22 Palestinian children, 3 of whom have been transferred to administrative detention, namely Ali Al-Shaikh Ibrahim, Maw’ed Al-Haj, and Jamal Barahma, the Prisoner Club said.
