DaysofPal- A 57-year-old Palestinian man was killed on Wednesday morning after being severely beaten by Israeli occupation forces in the town of al-Ram, north of occupied Jerusalem.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that its crews in Ramallah received the body of a man who had sustained fatal head injuries after being assaulted by Israeli soldiers near the Qalandiya checkpoint.
The victim was transferred to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Local sources identified the victim as Saleem Raji Hassan Abu Aisheh, from the town of al-Zababdeh near Jenin. According to witnesses, Abu Aisheh was assaulted near the separation wall in al-Ram before succumbing to his wounds.
While the exact details of the incident remain unclear, Palestinian workers are routinely subjected to violence, arrests, and shootings by Israeli forces as they attempt to reach their workplaces inside the occupied territories.
According to the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions, tens of thousands of workers have been unable to reach their jobs since October 2023, leaving around 510,000 Palestinians unemployed.
The Federation estimates that losses from the Israeli restrictions have reached $9 billion since the beginning of the war.
The organization also reported that 42 Palestinian workers have been killed and over 32,000 others arrested at workplaces or while trying to find work since the start of the conflict.
In related developments, Israeli forces carried out a large-scale arrest campaign across the occupied West Bank early Wednesday, detaining at least 14 Palestinians during raids on homes in Hebron, Bethlehem, Qalqilya, and Nablus.
In Hebron, the army stormed the towns of Beit Ummar, Halhul, and al-‘Aroub refugee camp, arresting several residents and ransacking homes.
Among the detainees were Rida Mahmoud Abu Ayyash, Mohammad Tahreer al-Alami, and Ahmad Ra’ef al-Badawi.
In Bethlehem, four Palestinians were detained from different neighborhoods, including Mustafa Mousa Nawarrah, Mohammad Ra’ed Zawahreh, Raed Abdul Karim al-Madhbouh, and Zakariya Jamal Owaidah.
In Qalqilya, Israeli forces arrested four young men after storming the city from its eastern entrance, while in Beita, south of Nablus, three more were detained, Aqid Ahmad Jaghoub, Uday Ibrahim al-Shannar, and Dr. Atiya Fathi Adili.
Meanwhile, Israeli troops closed off the entrances to the village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, preventing residents from entering or leaving.
The Israeli occupation forces continue to conduct daily raids across West Bank towns and villages, often involving home invasions, property damage, and the arrest of Palestinian civilians.
