Israeli occupation forces stormed the Mageddo prison and attacked Palestinian prisoners on Saturday morning, January 28.

The Palestinian ministry of detainees and ex-detainees reported on Saturday that Israeli occupation forces stormed the Mageddo prison and attacked Palestinian prisoners with pepper gas.

In a statement, the Ministry added that Israeli occupation forces transferred about 40 Palestinian prisoners to solitary confinement following the attacks.

These attacks came within a large-scale isolation campaign launched by Israeli occupation forces against Palestinian prisoners in Mageddo, Hedarim, Nefha, and Galbou prisons.

Until the end of last week, the Israeli forces had transferred nearly 220 Palestinian prisoners to solitary confinement cells.

Earlier yesterday, the Palestinian Prisoners Society PPS reported that Israeli forces stormed the Galbou prison and attacked prisoners who were transferred from Rimon to Galbou prison.

Palestinian prisoners threatened to take protest measures against the harassment and restrictions imposed by the prison authorities.

With the start of the Israeli far-right government, Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel’s security minister, ordered tightening restrictions on Palestinian prisoners.

Following his visit to Nafha prison, Ben-Gvir said that he came to ensure that Palestinian prisoners are not getting better conditions.

According to Palestinian figures, Israeli occupation authorities hold some 4,700 Palestinians, including 29 female prisoners, and 150 minors.
