DaysofPal — Israeli Fanatic Minister Bezalel Smotrich has directly instructed Israeli settlers to uproot thousands of Palestinian-owned trees in the northern occupied West Bank, as part of an escalating effort to expand Israeli settlement activity.
According to the Hebrew-language outlet Srugim, settlers uprooted approximately 3,000 trees in the vicinity of Jenin, affecting an area of around 200 dunams.
The incident marks one of the latest Israeli land-clearing operations aimed at expanding settlements in the region, and expelling Palestinians.
The reported actions follow a broader pattern of similar incidents during the last quarter of 2025, when nearly 9,000 trees were uprooted, reflecting what Palestinians describe as a growing policy to assert control over agricultural land.
In remarks cited by Srugim and translated by Palestine Online, Smotrich said that Israeli occupation is pursuing a “firm policy without any concessions” to strengthen settlement expansion.
He added that such measures are intended to thwart the establishment of the Palestinian state.
The actions have drawn widespread Palestinian condemnation, with critics viewing them as a direct assault on land and property, and further evidence of ongoing efforts to impose new realities on the ground through settlement expansion.
