B.M | DOP -

A Palestinian researcher in Jerusalem affairs said that the excavations beneath the Old City of occupied Jerusalem started to threaten the area of Al-Rahma Gate’s prayer hall.

Rasem Obaidat, a Palestinian researcher in Jerusalem, said that the Israeli excavations under the old city of Jerusalem pose a direct threat to the area of Al-Rahma gate.

Researcher Rasim stressed that Israeli occupation authorities seek to control the Bab al-Rahma prayer hall, which represents a third of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

He added that the Israeli occupation tries to prevent Jerusalemites from reaching the Bab al-Rahma cemetery.

The current situation in occupied Jerusalem could lead to a wave of escalation Obaidat pointed out, explaining that “our Palestinian people will rise up to confront the Israeli occupation.”

In addition, he pointed out that the ‘fascist Zionist’ government is trying to impose its Talmudic rituals inside Al-Aqsa Mosque, and seeks to cancel the Jordanian guardianship over it.

Israeli occupation authorities continue excavations in all areas surrounding Al-Aqsa Mosque below the ground, in addition to building tunnels under Al-Aqsa Mosque.
