DaysofPal- At least 17 Palestinians were killed, including an 11-month-old baby, and 52 wounded in an Israeli attack on a school-turned-shelter in Gaza’s Nuseirat camp.
The Gaza’s Government Media Office (GMO) affirmed that the Israeli occupation army targeted the Al-Nuseirat Martyrs school, which houses thousands of displaced persons, the majority of whom are children and women.
This massacre raises the number of shelters and displacement centers bombed by the Israeli occupation to 196, which accommodate hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals due to the genocide being waged by the occupation army against the Palestinian people, the GMO added.
Furthermore, the GMO clarified that this new crime coincides with the Israeli plan to dismantle the healthcare system in the Gaza Strip, destroy hospitals, render them non-operational, and prevent the entry of treatments, medicines, and medical supplies. This indicates a plan to eliminate more than 2,444,000 Palestinian individuals in the Gaza Strip.
Earlier Wednesday, the Gaza Civil Defense has declared a complete suspension of its operations in northern Gaza, citing Israeli threats against their personnel and the continued relentless bombardment.
Before the attack, the drone had issued an ultimatum for the workers to abandon their vehicles and halt all operations. The strike occurred as the situation intensified in the Sheikh Zayed area, where displaced civilians are currently besieged by Israeli forces.
With Civil Defense operations suspended, more than 150,000 residents in northern Gaza now find themselves without crucial emergency and rescue services. This has heightened their vulnerability amid relentless Israeli airstrikes and shelling.
Since the start of the Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, at least 42,847 people have been killed and 100,544 others wounded.
