DaysofPal- The Israeli military’s ongoing aerial and ground offensive in the Gaza Strip has intensified, with the scale of the attacks surpassing what many Palestinians can endure.
In the past 24 hours, airstrikes and artillery fire have claimed the lives of more than 60 Palestinians, the majority of whom were killed in indiscriminate attacks.
The violence has been particularly concentrated in the eastern areas of Deir el-Balah, where explosions were reported earlier today. Escalation has also reached the Nuseirat refugee camp, adjacent to the Netzarim Corridor, where a residential home was bombed in the past few hours. Three civilians, including a woman and two children, were killed in this strike.
In another devastating attack, Israeli forces targeted the headquarters of the United Nations agency in Deir al-Balah. An international staff member lost their life, while five others were wounded in the strike, marking a tragic escalation of violence against aid workers.
The bombing campaign has killed many civilians in other parts of Gaza. A strike on a funeral home in Beit Lahiya resulted in the deaths of 24 Palestinians, including children. As a result, many civilians have begun evacuating areas near the Israeli military presence, fearing further violence.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 436 Palestinians have been killed since the resumption of Israeli bombardments early Tuesday. Among the dead are 183 children, underscoring the heavy toll on Gaza’s civilian population.
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has called for an immediate ceasefire, warning that the situation has become dire for Gaza’s children.
“A million children in Gaza have been plunged back into a world of fear and death,” the agency wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
“International humanitarian law must be respected by all parties, allowing the immediate provision of aid, protection of civilians, and release of hostages.”
Since the beginning of the latest round of attacks on Tuesday, more than 180 children have lost their lives, and the violence shows no sign of abating. The international community continues to call for immediate action to halt the destruction and provide urgent humanitarian relief to those caught in the crossfire.
