DayofPal– Israeli occupation forces arrested four Palestinians from Hebron Governorate and subjected dozens to field interrogations during a raid on Al-Fawwar refugee camp in the southern West Bank, on Monday.
Amjad Al-Najjar, Director of Public Relations at the Palestinian Prisoners Club, stated that the Israeli occupation forces turned the Al-Fawwar Camp Youth Club into a field interrogation center. Around 100 residents were detained and subjected to on-site questioning.
Local sources reported that dozens of young men were arrested from their homes in Al-Fawwar Camp, taken to the youth club, and interrogated there. Many were dragged to Israeli prisons without receiving clear charges or trials.
Early this morning, the Israeli occupation forces completely sealed off all entrances and exits to the camp, enforcing a total lockdown in Hebron. This raid marks the third military incursion into the camp within only 24 hours.
Amid the ongoing genocide in Gaza, the Israeli army has intensified its attacks and ground operations in the West Bank, accompanied by a surge in settler violence. These escalations have resulted in 824 martyrs and approximately 6,500 injuries, including in East Jerusalem.
The Palestinian Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, along with the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, stated that Israel has established several interrogation centers across the West Bank; one of them is the Manasha camp, which was set up amid the escalating waves of arrests in the West Bank since the start of the war on Gaza.
In a statement, both prisoners’ bodies revealed that approximately 100 detainees are being held at the Manasha camp, located in the northern West Bank.
The statement also revealed that one of the detainees told his lawyer during a court hearing that the camp lacks basic necessities, including warm water despite the extreme cold.
There is no medical clinic or even a nurse on-site, leaving ill detainees with without medical care. Additionally, the detainees endure severe hunger, a critical shortage of clothing, and constant mistreatment and abuse.
