DaysofPal- The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have intensified their military offensive on the Gaza Strip, marking the fifth consecutive day of airstrikes and artillery bombardments. This escalation follows a brief 57-day ceasefire that had been in place since January 19, 2025.
In one of the latest attacks, an Israeli airstrike targeted the home of the Al-Mashharawi family, located near the Al-Julani Mosque in Gaza City’s Al-Tuffah neighborhood. Five civilians, including small children, were killed in the attack, and numerous others were injured.
The violence spread across other areas of Gaza, including the southern town of Rafah, where a residential building was hit by an airstrike, injuring one Palestinian.
Additional aerial assaults targeted agricultural lands near the Abu Al-Saeed junction, west of Rafah.
Throughout the night, the bombardment continued, with airstrikes reported in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza and al-Qarara in the east of Khan Yunis. Israeli artillery also shelled the Netzarim axis in central Gaza, as well as the Zeitoun neighborhood southeast of Gaza City and the western parts of Beit Lahia in the north.
Since Israel resumed its military operations on March 18, nearly 600 people have been killed, including over 220 children and 115 women. Another 1,042 individuals have been wounded, most of them women and children.
This surge in violence has brought the total death toll since the beginning of the Israeli offensive on October 7, 2023, to over 160,000 Palestinians, with countless others still missing. The war has wreaked havoc on Gaza, displacing over two million people and destroying more than 70% of the territory’s infrastructure.
