An Israeli airstrike on a UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency) school sheltering displaced people in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza has left at least 37 people dead and dozens injured.
The Israeli occupation military confirmed that its fighter jets targeted the school.
Ismail al-Thawabta, spokesman for the Government Media Office, reported that Al Aqsa Hospital is operating at three times its clinical capacity as it struggles to handle the influx of dead and wounded from the strike. The hospital continues to receive casualties from the devastating attack.
UNRWA Communications Director told Reuters that the number of fatalities from the Israeli attack on the Nuseirat school ranges between 35 and 45.
At least 36,586 people have been killed and 83,074 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 7. The death toll in Israel from Hamas’s attacks is at least 1,139 with dozens of people still held captive in Gaza
