DaysofPal- At least 20 Palestinians, including six children and five women, were killed on Friday evening in an Israeli airstrike targeting a residential building in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.
The bombing also left several others injured, with damage extending to neighboring homes. The victims, many of whom were members of the same family, were transported to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah.
In a separate tragic incident, a young girl lost was murdered when Israeli artillery shelled tents sheltering displaced families near the western part of Nuseirat.
The latest escalation has left Gaza reeling, with medical sources reporting that the death toll on Friday alone has risen to 63. Among the victims, 35 were killed in northern Gaza as Israeli forces intensified their assault on the densely populated enclave.
Additional airstrikes on Friday evening targeted areas across Gaza. In Gaza City’s Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, four civilians were killed and others injured in a bombing on Kashkou Street. Meanwhile, two people were killed in another airstrike west of Rafah in southern Gaza.
Over 105,834 Palestinians have been injured and at least 44,612 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli aggression since October 2023. Thousands more are believed to be trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defence teams due to Israel’s relentless bombardment.
Israel continues to attack Gaza in spite of the UN Security Council’s demands for an immediate ceasefire and the International Court of Justice’s orders to stop genocide. With hospitals overcrowded and vital infrastructure destroyed, the enclave’s humanitarian situation has deteriorated to a critical level.
The international community continues to urge an end to the violence, emphasizing the need for immediate action to prevent further loss of life and alleviate the suffering of Gaza’s besieged population.
