DaysofPal- Once again, former Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon tweeted about the Israeli army’s operation in the northern Gaza Strip, just days after a similar tweet on the same point.
Ya’alon stated that Israeli occupation forces were deployed in recent weeks to expel Gaza residents from the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
He added, ‘If sending forces is temporary, it is justified, but if it is aimed at expelling Palestinians and establishing settlements, it constitutes ethnic cleansing.’
On December 1, Ya’alon confirmed that his Israeli army is committing ‘war crimes’ in the Gaza Strip and is attempting to conceal this from the public in Israel.
Ya’alon said, ‘I take responsibility for what I said about the implementation of ethnic cleansing in northern Gaza.'”
In an unprecedented statement during an interview with the local Israeli channel ‘Democratv’ on Saturday, excerpts of which were republished by the official broadcasting authority, Ya’alon stated that Israel is carrying out ‘ethnic cleansing’ in the northern Gaza Strip.
He also accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of leading the country to ‘ruin.’
The Israeli occupation forces have been conducting an operation in the northern Gaza Strip since the fifth of last month, targeting the evacuation of large areas under heavy fire, with the aim of implementing the so-called ‘Generals’ Plan’ in the region.
The ‘Generals’ Plan’ calls for the complete elimination of any presence of the Hamas movement in the northern Gaza Strip by forcibly evacuating its residents, transforming the area into a closed military zone, blocking the entry of humanitarian aid, and designating everyone remaining inside as ‘terrorists’ to be eliminated.
Israel is using the weapons of ‘killing and starvation’ in the northern Gaza Strip, as warned by international institutions, turning life there into hell.
The ongoing ethnic cleansing campaign carried out by Israeli occupation forces in the northern Gaza Strip has led to the deaths of more than 3,000 civilians, most of them women and children, due to the bombing of homes and the extermination of entire families.
In addition, more than 100,000 people have been forcibly displaced from their homes under constant bombing and fire, over 10,000 have been wounded, and more than 3,000 have been arrested.
