Despite shortages of equipment and fuel, Gaza’s civil defense teams continue to tirelessly recover bodies from the rubble with their hands following an Israeli airstrike that struck a school sheltering hundreds of displaced Palestinians this morning.
The attack targeted an entire building in the school at a time when there was a recreational event for children inside.
Most of the victims were women and children, and the number is expected to rise as the recovery operations continue, Civil Defence team said, adding thay some of the victims’ bodies have not been identified because they are too fragmented.
Hamza’s death has brought the total number of journalists killed by Israeli forces since October 7 of last year to 170, marking the deadliest toll in modern warfare for journalists.
