DaysofPal- Israeli occupation forces have continued their airstrike campaign in the Gaza Strip, now on its tenth day, with a series of bombings that have targeted homes, shelters, and civilians. This latest wave of violence is being described as a severe escalation, characterized by mass killings and collective punishment.
Medical sources have reported that dozens of Israeli airstrikes were launched across Gaza on the night of Laylat al-Qadr, a significant religious observance for Muslims. These attacks resulted in numerous fatalities and injuries, further compounding the suffering of civilians in the region.
One of the deadliest strikes occurred in the al-Saftawi area, located north of Gaza City. An Israeli missile hit the home of the al-Gharbawi family on Ahmad Yassin Street, killing six Palestinians, including Ashraf al-Gharbawi, his wife, and their children. Several others were injured in the attack, which leveled the family’s residence.
In a separate incident, Israeli forces targeted and killed Abdul Latif al-Qanou, a spokesperson for the Hamas Movement, in a pre-dawn raid on the northern Gaza town of Jabalia al-Balad. Sources on the ground indicated that al-Qanou was killed instantly when Israeli aircraft bombed the tent in which he was sheltering. The strike was reportedly deliberate.
Israeli airstrikes also targeted a civilian shelter in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Yunis. The tent, which housed members of the Zarab family, was bombed, resulting in at least one death and ten injuries, one critical. Civil defense teams reported that the attack took place in the Be’er 19 area south of Mawasi.
Further bombings in Gaza City near Al-Quds Open University and in Qarara, north of Khan Yunis, resulted in additional casualties. In the latter attack, one person was killed, and others were injured after a residential building was struck.
Since the resumption of Israeli airstrikes on March 18, 2025, over 800 Palestinians have been killed, and more than 1,660 have been injured, with a significant portion of the casualties being women and children.
The ongoing assault, which began on October 7, 2023, has killed over 163,000 Palestinians and left thousands more wounded. With many believed to be trapped under rubble, more than 11,000 individuals are still missing.
