Israeli occupation authorities approved six plans to build and expand a group of Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank on Saturday, April 8, 2023.

Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission reported that the Israeli plans approved the construction of 543 settlement units in Ramallah and Nablus.

The commission pointed out that another approved plan aimed at expanding two Israeli settlements built in the occupied Palestinian lands in Jericho and Hebron.

In a statement, the commission stated that the occupation authorities violate all international norms and laws that criminalize settlement activities.

The statement stressed that ongoing Israeli changes in the occupied land are supported by international silence and double standards.

Under international law, all Israeli settlement activities in occupied Palestine are illegal. However, the Israeli new government has settlement expansion at the top of its priorities.

According to UN reports, the number of Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank had grown from 520,000 to over 700,000 during the past decade.
