DaysofPal- Iran launched a wave of missile and drone strikes early Saturday targeting Israeli locations and U.S. military facilities across the Middle East, in retaliation for large-scale attacks on its territory hours earlier.
In a statement, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the operation marked the first phase of a “large-scale” response against targets in Israel and American installations in the region. Iranian forces also struck U.S. bases, according to a separate military release.
Air raid sirens sounded across Israeli cities and settlements, Hebrew-language media reported, as authorities declared a state of emergency and instructed residents to take shelter. Footage circulating online showed plumes of smoke rising from several locations in Tel Aviv and surrounding areas.
Regional media outlets said the bombardment hit multiple Israeli and U.S. military sites, including American bases in the Gulf.
An Iranian official told Al Jazeera that Tehran’s response would be “open” and unrestricted. The official warned that all American and Israeli interests in the Middle East were now considered legitimate targets, signaling the possibility of further escalation.
The strikes followed a broad aerial and naval assault carried out earlier Saturday by forces from the United States and the Israeli occupation against sites inside Iran, according to military sources.
