DaysofPal— The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported on Saturday that nine people were killed and 19 others wounded in the Gaza Strip over the past 48 hours amid ongoing Israeli attacks.
In its daily statistical update, the ministry said the casualties were transferred to hospitals across the enclave, while rescue teams remain unable to reach other victims still trapped under rubble or lying in the streets due to widespread destruction and continuing danger on the ground.
Emergency and civil defense crews are struggling to recover bodies because of the scale of devastation and persistent security risks, raising concerns that the actual death toll could rise as search operations continue.
According to the ministry, since the announcement of a ceasefire, at least 628 people have been killed and 1,686 injured.
Authorities also recorded 735 recovered bodies during the same period, underscoring the ongoing humanitarian consequences despite the declared truce.
The cumulative toll since the start of the war on October 7, 2023, has climbed to 72,095 fatalities and 171,784 injuries, making it one of the deadliest escalations in the territory’s history.
Officials warn that the health system is nearing collapse under sustained attacks and severe shortages of resources.
