Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) notified Saturday, June 17, 2023, to stop construction on a Palestinian-owned residential building and seized an excavator in the village of Zweiden in Masafer Yatta.
Anti-settlement activist, Osama Makhamreh, stated that the occupation forces stopped the construction of a house belonging to the Palestinian Nayef Ali Taimat in the village of Zweidin, and seized an excavator belonging to Musa Mahmoud al-Adra, who was working in the place.
He added that the area in which the building is being built is located in the structural plan area of the village, and that the occupation forces have not previously notified of stopping work there.
Israeli occupation tries in various ways to forcibly displace Palestinians from their own lands and demolish their homes in favor of settlement expansion, using pretexts most notably building without a permit.According to OCHA, Israeli occupation carries out the stop-construction and demolition orders under the pretext of lacking a building permit. The organization noted that “it is almost impossible for Palestinians to obtain such or that permit.”
