Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) delivered Monday, May 29, 2023, a notice to demolish a Palestinian-owned quarry in the Al-Khabta area in the town of Betunia, west of Ramallah.
Local sources stated that the Israeli occupation forces stormed the town of Beitunia and handed Mahmoud Hassan Ali Shilo a notice to demolish a quarry belonging to him in the town.
Israeli occupation tries with everything at their disposal to forcibly displace Palestinians from their own lands and demolish their homes in favor of settlement expansion, using pretexts most notably building without a permit.
During the first months of 2023, Israeli occupation demolished 185 Palestinian-owned structures in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, according to the United Nations Organization for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OCHA).
OCHA explained that the Israeli occupation carry out the stop-construction and demolition orders under the pretext of lacking a building permit. The organization noted that “it is almost impossible for Palestinians to obtain such or that permit.”
