DaysofPal- The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) issued a new mass evacuation threat to the Gaza population today, threatening residents that any delay in leaving could put their lives at risk.
IOF published an online map directing all residents to leave the city via al-Rashid Street and head to what it called a “humanitarian” zone in al-Mawasi in the southern Gaza Strip, which is an overpopulated area that comes under continuous Israeli bombing.
The threat comes amid an escalation of Israeli military operations against civilians, infrastructure, hospitals and buildings in Gaza, where Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened the people of Gaza to be forcibly displaced as part of a large-scale ground operation aimed at occupying Gaza City and displacing its people.
Gaza’s population is currently estimated at around one million people, living under dire conditions amid worsening food shortages and a severe humanitarian crisis.
The Israeli occupation orders people to evacuate to the so-called humanitarian zone in al-Mawasi, which is already overpopulated and exposed to continuous Israeli bombing.
Humanitarian organizations report that these areas remain unsafe and are insufficiently prepared to accommodate the massive influx of displaced people.
Media outlets highlighted growing fear and despair among civilians, as residents view the evacuation as “inevitable and pointless,” given the repeated cycles of displacement, physical and psychological exhaustion, and growing distrust in the credibility of so-called “safe zones.”
The Israeli occupation’s threat to impose a full evacuation on Gaza City marks another step in its wider military campaign to occupy Gaza City, and it comes amid an overwhelming humanitarian catastrophe, as residents face repeated displacement, severe shortages of basic services, and relentless bombardment of homes and civilian infrastructure.
