DaysofPal- The Gaza’s Government Media Office reported that the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) displaced more than 300,000 Palestinians from northern Gaza, killed over 200 civilians, and destroyed 1,000 housing units within just 48 hours in the north of the Gaza governorate.
Continuous Massacres and Widespread Destruction
In a statement issued Saturday evening, the office confirmed that the occupation committed a series of ongoing massacres, accompanied by the destruction of over 1,000 housing units either completely or partially, including re-targeting already destroyed structures.
This forced more than 300,000 citizens to flee toward Gaza City, which is already devastated and lacks the infrastructure to accommodate such a massive number of displaced people.
Victims Still Under the Rubble
The statement revealed that 140 martyrs remain under the rubble due to the Israeli army’s deliberate prevention of ambulance and civil defense teams from reaching bombing sites in northern Gaza.
This act was described as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions, which mandate the protection of civilians and the facilitation of rescue operations during wartime.
Systematic Targeting of Everything That Moves
The statement noted that the occupation systematically targeted everything that moved in northern Gaza, including individuals, vehicles, and rescue teams, turning the area into an “open and systematic killing field.” The operation, dubbed “Gideon’s Chariots” by the occupation, aims to kill and displace thousands of civilians, according to the statement.
Burning Tents for Displaced Persons
The office highlighted that Israeli drones focused on burning hundreds of tents designated for displaced persons in the Tel Al-Zaatar area of the Jabalia refugee camp, as well as in Beit Lahiya and other areas in northern Gaza. This occurred amid suspicious international silence and active complicity in the ongoing genocide.
Humanitarian Catastrophe in Gaza City
Gaza City, which has become a forced refuge for tens of thousands of displaced people, is suffering from a severe shortage of tents and shelters. As a result, thousands of families are now homeless, particularly in Al-Jalaa Street and the Al-Suffa neighborhood. The statement warned of a compounded humanitarian catastrophe due to the complete lack of necessities like food, water, and medicine, amidst a suffocating blockade and continuous bombardment.
Urgent Call for International Intervention
The office warned against the continuation of this systematic killing and ongoing genocide, emphasizing that what is happening in northern Gaza constitutes a crime of ethnic cleansing and a full-fledged genocide, committed in plain sight of the world.
The statement urgently called for immediate and effective international intervention to stop the escalating massacres and end the systematic genocide.
It demanded the deployment of international teams to rescue the wounded and recover the bodies of victims. It also called for the immediate opening of Gaza’s crossings to allow humanitarian, relief, and medical aid, and for holding occupation leaders accountable for these crimes in specialized international courts.
International Responsibility
The statement stressed that the international silence on this systematic ethnic cleansing and genocide amounts to giving a green light for the continuation of mass killings.
It held the Israeli occupation and its supporting countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, fully responsible for these crimes. It also held the international community morally and ethically accountable for its failure or complicity.
