Institutions concerned with prisoners’ affairs revealed on Monday, September 12, that the Israeli occupation forces IOF detained 607 Palestinians during the month of August.
In a statement, the institutions: the Prisoners’ Affairs Commission, the Palestinian Prisoners Club, and Addameer, clarified that the highest rate of arrests was reported in occupied Jerusalem.
The statement added that 59 Palestinian children and 13 women were among the detainees last August.
Israeli occupation forces detained 148 Palestinians including 30 children in Jerusalem, 118 in Hebron, and 96 others in Bethlehem.
Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces issued 143 administrative detention orders against Palestinians in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, renewing the detention for 129 others.
Israel currently holds 4650 Palestinians including 32 women and 743 children in its prisons. Among them, 743 are held under administrative detention.
