DaysofPal- The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have continued their intense bombardment of the Gaza Strip, targeting schools and densely populated civilian areas.
The latest attacks over the past hours resulted in the killing and injuring of numerous Palestinian civilians, including women and children, in two separate airstrikes.
In the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, an Israeli airstrike targeted Abu Halu School, which was sheltering displaced families.
The attack killed four civilians and wounded several others with varying degrees of injuries. The school had been serving as a refuge for hundreds of families fleeing intense fighting in northern and southern Gaza, amid an increasingly dire humanitarian situation.
In northern Gaza, at least three civilians were killed in an airstrike that hit a residential apartment near Imam Shafi’i School in the Zeitoun neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
Local sources reported that the bombing caused severe damage to nearby buildings and led to additional injuries, including among children.
These attacks are part of Israel’s ongoing military escalation in Gaza that began on October 7, 2023. So far, the aggression has resulted in tens of thousands of casualties and widespread destruction of critical infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, and shelters.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas previously described the humanitarian situation in Gaza as “catastrophic,” warning that “the continued violations mean a collective failure to restrain the Israeli genocide and prevent further atrocities against Palestinian civilians.”
Despite growing international calls for an immediate ceasefire, Israel’s military continues to bombard densely populated areas, ignoring UN resolutions and multiple orders from the International Court of Justice demanding an end to the aggression.
On Wednesday, the Gaza Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from the Israeli assault has risen to 58,573 martyrs and 139,607 wounded since October 7, 2023. From March 18, 2025, until today alone, there have been 7,750 martyrs and 27,566 injuries.
