DayofPal- The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has categorically denied reports of any discussions or agreements concerning the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza to Indonesia.
Ministry spokesperson Roy Sumirat issued a press statement clarifying Indonesia’s official stance. “The Indonesian government has not discussed with any party nor received information about a plan to transfer Gaza residents to Indonesia, as reported by several foreign media outlets,” he stated.
His remarks come in direct response to Israeli media claims that approximately 100 Gaza residents were to be relocated to Indonesia for construction work as part of a pilot program, framed by the Israeli government as “voluntary migration.”
Sumirat emphasized that Indonesia remains steadfast in its diplomatic efforts, with a primary focus on securing an immediate ceasefire, ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and advocating for urgent reconstruction of the devastated enclave.
Israeli reports have suggested that this alleged pilot program is merely a precursor to a larger scheme aimed at systematically expelling Palestinians from their homeland.
According to The Times of Israel, Major General Ghassan Alian, head of COGAT (Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories), is spearheading the initiative, which, if expanded, would seek to coerce thousands more Gazans into permanent displacement.
However, Indonesia has firmly rejected any claims of involvement in such plans. The government reiterates its unwavering commitment to supporting peace, stability, and the sovereignty of the Palestinian people.
