DaysofPal- The Ministry of Health in Gaza has reported that at least 112 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza in the past day, including mostly women and children, among 33 slain in three separate attacks on schools sheltering displaced Palestinians in Gaza City.
In Gaza City, 37 people were killed at the Baptist Hospital following an airstrike targeting the Shejaiya neighborhood in the east of the city. Another Israeli airstrike on a house in the Yarmouk area of central Gaza City killed 3 individuals and injured others.
In Deir al-Balah, a city in the central Gaza Strip, four Palestinians were killed in an Israeli raid targeting a police patrol in the city center. The victims included three police officers on duty and a young child bystander. The bodies of the deceased, along with the injured, were rushed to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah.
The southern Gaza Strip has also been heavily impacted. In Khan Younis, a shelling attack on a house and tents sheltering displaced families in the Kutaiba area killed at least 10 people, with others wounded. Local sources confirm the victims were primarily civilians seeking refuge from the ongoing violence.
One of the deadliest incidents occurred when Israeli warplanes bombed the “Dar al-Arqam” school in the Tuffah neighborhood of Gaza City, killing 31 people, including women and children. Dozens of injured individuals remain trapped under the rubble as Civil Defense teams continue to struggle with a lack of resources to carry out rescue operations.
The Civil Defense spokesman, Major Mahmoud Basal, said that dozens of injured people are under the rubble and rescue teams cannot get them out due to lack of capabilities. He added that the remains of children are all over the place as a result of the massacre, describing what is happening in Gaza as madness.
Today, the violence continued unabated, adding to the already devastating toll. Medical sources report that at least 34 people have been killed in Israeli attacks today. Among the victims were a man and his wife, killed in an Israeli drone strike northeast of Rafah. Additionally, 10 people were killed in a shelling attack on a house in the Manara neighborhood southeast of Khan Younis. Another attack on a shelter for displaced people in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis killed 3 individuals and left others injured.
The director of the Baptist Hospital described the situation as catastrophic, saying that the hospital is overwhelmed and lacks critical medical resources, such as CT scanners. The director highlighted the challenges facing healthcare workers, noting that there is only one CT scanner serving the entire northern Gaza Strip, while the area desperately needs many more.
“There is only one CT scanner in the northern Gaza Strip, while we need dozens,” the director of the Baptist Hospital in Gaza said.
Since resuming its genocide in Gaza on March 18, Israel has killed about 1,300 Palestinians and wounded nearly 3,000 others, mostly children and women.
