Palestinians fleeing Gaza City describe relentless and intensified bombing that has left entire neighbourhoods in ruins.
Israeli forces are targeting residential homes, including a high-rise building that sheltered dozens of displaced families. The surrounding area, filled with tents of Palestinians who had already fled earlier bombardments, was also struck.
Witnesses say the Israeli military is systematically destroying infrastructure – water tanks, solar panels, and anything that could help residents survive. “They are trying to wipe out all means of sustaining life,” one resident said.
Israel has also deployed remotely operated vehicles packed with up to two tonnes of explosives into residential neighbourhoods, triggering massive blasts heard as far away as Deir el-Balah and az-Zawayda.
With nowhere safe, thousands of Palestinian families are once again forced to flee Gaza City, escaping into the unknown with no guarantee of shelter, food, or safety.
