DayofPal— Hezbollah formally announced its entry into the expanding regional confrontation following Israeli and US strikes on Iran.
It claimed responsibility for rocket and drone attacks targeting sites near Haifa in occupied Palestine.
In an official statement released Monday, the Lebanese group said it struck the Mishmar HaCarmel missile defense facility south of Haifa using precision-guided rockets and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Hezbollah described the operation as a direct response to the assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, as well as the sustained Israeli aggression against Lebanon.
The group framed its actions as defensive, arguing that Israel’s military campaign over the past fifteen months had left it with little choice but to respond.
Hezbollah said its objective is to deter further attacks, compel Israeli forces to withdraw from contested Lebanese areas, and protect civilians from continued cross-border strikes.
It also called on regional and international actors to intervene to halt the escalating Israeli and US military attacks.
Earlier, Hezbollah issued a statement mourning Khamenei’s death, pledging unwavering solidarity with Iran.
The group praised his decades of leadership, portraying him as a central supporter of the Palestinian cause and a key architect of Iran’s regional alliances.
Hezbollah described his killing as martyrdom and vowed to continue the path of resistance.
The announcement marks a significant widening of the war that began with Israeli-US strikes on Iran.
