DayofPal-Israeli airstrikes across multiple locations in the Gaza Strip have claimed the lives of over 830 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are women and children, as relentless bombardment of the besieged enclave continues.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, as of 1:59 p.m. local time on Wednesday, the confirmed death toll reached 830, with at least 1,787 others wounded.
However, officials warn that the actual number of casualties is expected to rise significantly, as many remain buried beneath the rubble of destroyed buildings.
Among those killed, 322 were children, 174 were women, and 58 were elderly, underscoring the disproportionate impact of the airstrikes on Gaza’s most vulnerable populations.
The Ministry further reported that since the onset of Israel’s assault on Gaza on October 7, 2023, more than 50,183 Palestinians have been killed, with at least 113,828 others injured.
On March 18, Israel escalated its offensive with renewed airstrikes and, last week, launched a fresh ground invasion across Gaza, signaling the breakdown of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had been in effect since January 19, 2025.
While the first phase of the deal concluded on March 1, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refused to proceed with the second phase, leading to its collapse.
Netanyahu, who is currently wanted by the International Criminal Court, sought to secure the release of additional Israeli captives without fulfilling Israel’s commitments under the agreement, which included ending the war and withdrawing from Gaza. Hamas, in response, insisted on full adherence to the negotiated terms.
Amid the renewed atrocities, Israel imposed a total blockade on Gaza by sealing all border crossings on March 1, preventing the entry of desperately needed humanitarian aid, including food, fuel, and medical supplies, further exacerbating the deepening humanitarian catastrophe.
