DaysofPal- The Ministry of Health in Gaza said Tuesday that a Palestinian infant has died of starvation and malnutrition in Naser hospital, which raises the victims’ toll of Israeli-made starvation and malnutrition to 453 Palestinians, including 150 children, since the tightening of the Israeli blockade and the targeting of food security systems in the besieged Gaza Strip.
In a brief statement, the ministry reported that since the official declaration of famine in Gaza under the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), 175 new deaths linked to hunger have been recorded, among them 35 children.
The ministry said the crisis has deepened since March 2, when the Israeli occupation shut Gaza’s crossings to humanitarian aid, food, medicine, goods, and fuel, further crippling the territory’s already devastated economy and relief systems.
Gaza’s humanitarian catastrophe has unfolded alongside the Israeli genocide, launched after October 7, 2023.
According to health officials in the enclave, more than 234,000 people have been killed or wounded in the war, the majority women and children, while over 9,000 remain missing under the rubble.
International agencies have repeatedly warned that Gaza faces one of the fastest-developing hunger crises in recent history, with children particularly vulnerable as families are left without access to basic food supplies, clean water, or medical care.
