DaysofPal- A senior Hamas official disclosed on Tuesday that during the ongoing negotiations in Sharm El-Sheikh, the movement insisted that the release of the final Israeli captive must coincide with the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, the source stated that Tuesday evening marked the conclusion of the second day of discussions between mediators and the Hamas delegation.
The talks on the second day reportedly centered on the withdrawal maps and a schedule for releasing Israeli captives.
The Hamas delegation maintained that every stage of releasing captives should correspond with a parallel stage of Israeli military withdrawal.
The source added that Hamas emphasized the final captive’s release should take place simultaneously with the complete pullout of Israeli troops, while also underscoring the importance of international guarantees to ensure a permanent ceasefire and full military withdrawal.
